 The REFINED Warranty Difference Covers You When You Need It Most

Your REFINED custom computer is warranted for defects in material for 2 years labor and one year parts from the date your computer ships.

Labor Warranty

The REFINED 3-year labor warranty includes upgrades purchased through REFINED. Should you wish to make upgrades to your computer, see the "Limitation of Liability" section below for exceptions to this coverage.

Parts Warranty

Every REFINED computer includes one year of parts warranty. If a component fails or is found to be defective and is reported during this term, REFINED will repair or replace the defective part with new or reconditioned parts at our option.

After your warranty expires, it is important to note that many of your components will still carry a manufacturer warranty (e.g., most hard drives are 3 year, and memory is lifetime!). These warranty issues are typically the responsibility of the customer to work on directly with the manufacturer. However, the staff at REFINED will generally be more than willing to facilitate this process for you at our discretion. 
Note: Warranty service for all peripherals (monitors, speakers, and external equipment) is provided by the manufacturer of the component. All claims for warranty service must be made during the term of the warranty.

Shipping Warranty

Since most problems occur early in the warranty term, including shipping damages, REFINED offers outstanding warranty service for the first 30 days, during which time wewill pay for shipping in both directions when it is determined by us to be necessary to bring a system back here for repair.

The shipping method used will match the transit time of the shipping method you ordered. IE, if you order your computer with overnight shipping, we'll cover overnight shipping to get it here and back for repair. We use UPS for all return shipments. After 30 days you are responsible for shipping costs to us and we will return your computer to you via UPS Ground.
 
All systems must be shipped in original packaging materials with the RMA number clearly written on the outside of the box. You will be charged for any computer not shipped in original packaging. REFINED is not responsible for damage caused by improper packaging.

Replacement Parts

If we find that a part is defective, and you are capable of swapping out the part yourself, we can just send a replacement part out to you as an advance RMA or cross-shipment. The replacement part we send will include a return shipping label so you can return the defective part to us at no cost to you. This advance replacement must be secured by credit card. Any defective part not returned within 15 days from the time the replacement part is shipped, will be charged to your credit card for its value. With all advance RMAs, REFINED is not responsible for any damages stemming from improper installation of the new part. It is your responsibility to know how to safely work with the hardware you are replacing.

If you do not have that knowledge or experience, DO NOT attempt to swap out a part on your own. Component purchases are not eligible for advance RMA.
 

Return for Repair

Desktop and server computer systems are generally repaired within 3-4 business days after we receive delivery. If replacement parts are not in stock, more time will be needed to complete the repair.

When it is determined by REFINED that it is necessary to have a system shipped back for repair in the first 30 days, return shipping is covered by warranty. To enable us to cover return shipping costs, the customer can choose one of the methods below:
  1. We will email you an electronic return label that you will print and take with the computer, packed in its original packaging to any local UPS counter, and the computer will be shipped to us at no cost to you.
  2. We issue a UPS pickup request. UPS will show up at your door with a return label to pickup the computer, which should be packed in its original packaging and ready to ship. We have no control over what time UPS will arrive, but they will make 3 attempts (1 per day) if you are not there.
If the shipping service upgrade is desired, you may elect to pay for an upgrade to a faster method.
 

Technical Support

Technical support is included with each computer system for 3years. You must have your invoice number to obtain technical support.

 
Technical issues are handled via email and phone. The primary (and fastest) method of communication is email.
 
Technical support for operating systems is limited to aspects directly related to hardware functionality but we will assist you as best we can with any issues that arise from operating system problems. Any hardware devices purchased from sources other than REFINED are not eligible for support.
 
Limitation of Liability
 
REFINED is not responsible for damages or costs that are the result of accidents, misuse, disaster, or abuse of your computer. Modifications, overclocking, BIOS or firmware updates, or repairs made to your system by anyone other than REFINED will void your warranty if prior authorization is not made through a REFINED representative. Most modifications will be approved, but we require aspect of control in order to prevent unnecessary damage. REFINED is not responsible for any losses or complications that arise as a result of a modification.
